The Western New York Pyrotechnic Association was formed in October of 1992
and incorporated as a not-for-profit organization in 1995. It is composed
of shooters from various companies, distributors, manufacturers, importers,
display company owners, and people who "just love Fireworks". Our main objectives
are to teach, to learn and to have fun, safely. Our meetings are held the
second Thursday of the month, usually in Orchard Park, NY. Following the
business (boring) part of the meeting, we will have a guest speaker, view
videos, or have a learning workshop. In addition to the meetings, we have
4 or 5 family picnics each year at a private remote location where you can
bring all the toys you want, or just kick back and enjoy. The club also does
a few "not-for-profit" shows each year. Members also receive at least 9
newsletters a year. Any non-member who submits an article that gets
published will receive that newsletter.
The Western New York Pyrotechnic Association was founded by independent pyrotechnicians serving many different fireworks display companies. Sharing our varied experiences has allowed us to develop what we believe to be one of the safest methods for putting on a public fireworks display. As a club we are proud to be able to offer a comprehensive seminar on display fireworks safety specifically geared to emergency first responders.
Volunteer fire companies in particular are encouraged to avail themselves of this opportunity. Sharing each other's knowledge and concerns enables both of us to better serve our community.
We can also, upon your request, give a seminar specifically tailored to the needs of your particular group whether it be a school, a scout troop or a cultural organization. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any questions.
Membership runs from June 1st to May 31st. There is an initiation fee of $25 for new members. Annual dues are $25.00 (U.S. mailing address); $30.00 -- Canada & Mexico; $40.00 -- Overseas. Payable in U.S. funds. You can join at any time of the year, and will receive all of the available newsletters from the previous June.
Subscriptions to our monthly newsletter are $20.00(U.S. mailing address); $25.00 -- Canada & Mexico; $35.00 -- Overseas. Payable in U.S. funds.
